More than one pterygium in the same eye?

Pterygium grow from the white of the eye over the coloured part of the eye. Mostly they arise from the nose and grow outwards, but they can do the reverse, and grow from the outside in, and some people can have both of them. This lady in her 50’s had pterygia on both sides of her cornea, but they caused different symptoms. Therefore, the pterygium on the left of the photo was treated first, by PERFECT surgery 3 years earlier and looks completely normal. When the one on the right started to cause symptoms, the same PERFECT surgery was carried out, and the photo shows the result 2 months after PERFECT surgery. The eye is almost completely white, and given time, will look exactly the same as the other sideā€¦like surgery had never occurred.
